What is unitization in document review?
Unitization – Physical and Logical:The assembly of individually scanned pages into documents. Logical unitization is the process of human review of each individual page in an image collection using logical cues to determine pages that belong together as documents.

Once each page that starts a new document is identified, the documents are organized and logically arranged.

Logical Document Determination (or LDD) is a process that some eDiscovery providers (including – shameless plug warning! – CloudNine Discovery). It’s a process where each image page in a scanned document set is reviewed and the “logical document breaks” (i.e., each page that starts a new document) is identified.
What is unitization in relativity?
When you unitize a document, Relativity tags that document as a Parent and tags each child document as a Child. You can’t unitize a Child document. You can’t unitize documents while the parent document is in the process of being unitized into child documents.

How can I search for a unitized document?
Unitized documents are given the ‘EVERSPLIT’ prefix. You can search for documents with this prefix using the Bates search term. If you chose to transfer the Bates range from your original document, then you can search for unitized documents with the Bates prefix you transferred.
Who is allowed to use the unitization tool?
Unitization can only be enabled and used by project administrators, or users with unitization permissions. All members of the project can see the resulting unitized documents. To give a user group Unitization permissions, go to Project Settings, then to Permissions. Here you can select a user group and assign Unitization permissions.
Where is the unitization tool in Microsoft Office?
If you have Unitization permissions, the unitization tool will be turned on in the context panel of the review window (indicated by the doc split icon). You can toggle the unitization tool on and off in the context panel by pressing “u” on your keyboard.
