What is DBSE in coupling?
The latest ‘short distance between shaft ends’ (DBSE) coupling design launched by John Crane is designed to bring important benefits to applications where gear-type and grid couplings have traditionally been used.
How do you align a coupling?
A coupling is correctly aligned if a straight-edge laid across both coupling halves parallel to the shaft maintains the same distance from the shaft at all points around its circumference. In addition, the axial distance between the coupling halves should remain the same at all points around the circumference.
How do you align a pump?
For angular misalignments, a simple approach is as follows:
- With the motor and pump shaft flanges close to each other, but disconnected, mark a spot on each shaft, then measure the separation between them with a feeler or taper gauge.
- Rotate both shafts by about 90 degrees, keeping the marks close to each other.
What does DBSE mean?
DBSE
Acronym | Definition |
---|---|
DBSE | Dual Band Satellite Emulator |
DBSE | Distance Between Shaft Ends (couplings technology) |
DBSE | Delta Bati Service Elec (French electrician service) |
DBSE | Dr. Bowman’s School of Euphonium (Texas) |
What are the two basic types of shaft misalignment?
There are two types of misalignment: parallel and angular misalignment. With parallel misalignment, the center lines of both shafts are parallel but they are offset. With angular misalignment, the shafts are at an angle to each other.
What is the most accurate method of coupling alignment?
Laser alignment
Laser alignment is the most accurate method available (to 0.0001) and once familiar staff can align the pump and motor quickly. However, it is the most expensive method available and can be complicated to set up.
What is axial alignment?
An axial misalignment means the two ends of each axis, or shaft, don’t meet. They are parallel, but when fully extended, the ends do not come together. This kind of misalignment can also be called an end float because the ends of the shafts “float” but do not connect, meaning they can move in and out.
How is misalignment calculated?
To determine angular misalignment, divide the coupling gap difference by the diameter of face dial indicator travel. Example: The face indicator is set to zero at 3:00. The indicator is rotated 180 degrees to 9:00.
How the shaft misalignment occurs?
Misalignment occurs when two rotating shafts are not parallel to one another, whether it be an offset or an angular gap at the coupling. Machinery misalignment is extremely common in rotating machinery and is typically the root cause of machine failure.
Can a pump be left in place without disassembly?
2 – DISASSEMBLY FOR BEARINGS AND/OR MECHANICAL SEALS REPLACEMENT The pumps are designed to allow replacement of ball bearings, sleeve bearings and mechanical seals without total pump disassembly. Therefore it is possible to leave the pump in place without disconnecting the piping or removing the pump from the installation.
Where can I find instructions for a centrifugal pump?
Instructions relating to safety of operation, installation and maintenance will be found in the “OPERATING MANUAL FOR CENTRIFUGAL PUMPS” which is usually supplied with the pump or it can be requested from your POMPETRAVAINI representative. Proper attire is necessary prior to beginning any work on the pumps.
What’s the best way to adjust a water pump?
Shorter tethers and rods work best for lower water levels while higher tethers and rods are better for higher water levels. Electronic float switch adjustment is done by adjusting a screw that changes the settings inside the pump. Each turn of the screwdriver raises or lowers water detecting electronics inside the pump body.
Can a pump be started without an Atex stamp?
In case the pump is assigned in environments subjected to the application ATEX 99/92/CE directive or in case the pump is provided with a nameplate indicating the ATEX stamp, it strictly forbidden proceed to start up the pumps but necessary to consult POMPETRAVAINI for clarifications.
