Is there a tropical rainforest in the United States?
While we do have rainforests in the U.S., almost all of them are temperate. The only tropical rainforest managed by the U.S. Forest Service is El Yunque National Forest in northern Puerto Rico (Puerto Rico is a commonwealth of the U.S., and Puerto Ricans are American citizens).

Is Puerto Rico a tropical rainforest?
Puerto Rico’s El Yunque National Forest is the only tropical rainforest in the United States National Forest system. Considering it’s on a Caribbean island, it’s expansive, with 28,000 acres of tropical palms and dense foliage crisscrossed with hiking trails.
