2.5. The manufacturing water use model. Manufacturing industries utilize water for three main reasons: (i) for processing purposes and inclusion in final outputs (e.g. beverages), (ii) for cooling purposes (e.g. primary metal industry), and (iii) for miscellaneous purposes such as cleaning and sanitation.
