What’s the best way to wire a siren?
We recommend pin D8 in most installations. If you’re replacing an existing alarm panel, look for the siren wires connected to two screw terminals on your alarm panel. Disconnect the wire leading to the positive alarm output terminal (usually red), but leave the negative (ground) wire connected to the ground terminal of the alarm panel.
Where do you connect the starter wire on a car alarm?
Connect the cathode side of the diode and terminal #86 to an ignition (+) source. Cut and connect the key side of the starter wire in the ignition harness to terminal #87a and the motor side of the starter wire to terminal #30.
How is the output of a car alarm connected?
Many of today’s alarms have a port to plug the LED directly into them. If yours does not, there will be a dedicated wire that has a positive or negative output. If the output is positive, connect it to the positive wire of the LED and connect the negative wire of the LED to ground.
Do you need a relay for a siren?
If you don’t need to control them independently, then you can just hook up both sirens red wires to the NO contact on the relay. If you need to trigger or control the second siren independently, you’ll need a second relay module, and one free pin on your board to connect the relay IN signal to.
