What are some reasons why humans need to cut down forests?
We are cutting down rainforests for many reasons, including:
- wood for both timber and making fires;
- agriculture for both small and large farms;
- land for poor farmers who don’t have anywhere else to live;
- grazing land for cattle;
- pulp for making paper;
- road construction; and.
- extraction of minerals and energy.
Why do people cut down trees?
Removing a few trees not only gives you access to wood and other resources but also promotes diversity in your local environment. Some animal species can lose habitats due to a lack of tree removal. Forests are homes to a wide range of habitats, and some animals only thrive in a young forest environment.
What will happen if we cut the trees?
If we would cut trees what is going to happen is that population won’t stop growing but oxygen in the atmosphere will reduce. Another effect can be scarcity of food. They breathe in carbon dioxide and breathe out oxygen. We breathe out carbon dioxide and breathe in oxygen.
Do trees cry when they get cut down?
Like any living thing, plants want to remain alive, and research shows that when certain plants are cut, they emit a noise that can be interpreted as a scream. Because of this, we can’t say a plant’s “scream” is due to suffering, but is rather a form of communication for survival.
What if forests disappeared?
Without trees, formerly forested areas would become drier and more prone to extreme droughts. When rain did come, flooding would be disastrous. Massive erosion would impact oceans, smothering coral reefs and other marine habitats.
How are humans affected by deforestation?
Deforestation also degrades soil quality and is a major cause of the world’s rapid desertification. Such weather patterns and environmental changes contribute to the plummeting of the agricultural production. Humans are hit by food shortage due to the low agricultural produce.
