What is the connection between lungs and nose?
Your nose connects to the back of your mouth through two tubes. The air you breathe in goes from your mouth and nose down to your trachea and into your lungs. Your nose is really neat, because it is able to block some of the dirt and germs in the air.
What parts are in the lungs?
Lungs. Bronchial tubes/bronchi. Bronchioles. Air sacs (alveoli)
What does the nose do for the lungs?
Your nose processes the air you breathe, preparing it for your lungs and throat which do not tolerate dry air well. As inhaled air passes through your nose, it’s moisturized and humidified thanks to a multiple-layer air pathway with three sets of turbinates (called upper, middle and lower conchae).
Is the nose a respiratory organ?
The nose is the only part of the respiratory system that is visible externally and is the route for air entry into the respiratory system. Air is drawn in via the nostrils or external nares and enters the large nasal cavity, which is divided into two by the nasal septum.
Where does your nose meet your throat?
The area where the nose and throat meet is called the nasopharynx.
What are the 5 lobes of the lungs?
The lung consists of five lobes. The left lung has a superior and inferior lobe, while the right lung has superior, middle, and inferior lobes. Thin walls of tissue called fissures separate the different lobes. Only the right lung has a middle lobe.

How is the nose part of the respiratory system?
The nasal cavity is partitioned from the oral cavity directly below it by the palate. Like the rest of the respiratory tract, the nose is lined with mucosal epithelium containing glands that secrete a thick, sticky mucus that helps to moisten the tract.
Where does the air go in the lungs?
Air goes into the lungs through tubes called main-stem bronchi. One main-stem bronchus leads to the right lung and one to the left lung: In the lungs, the main-stem bronchi divide into smaller bronchi. The smaller bronchi divide into even smaller tubes (bronchioles).
